They are absolutely stunning. Unique. And one-of-a-kind. Berker rotary switches from Hager now come with illumination. If you have always liked the round series of Berker switches—namely the design series 1930, the glass series, and R.classic—then you will be thrilled with their illuminated variant!
Throughout 2019, we are celebrating two significant anniversaries: the Bauhaus design school is celebrating its 100th anniversary, as are the switches that proudly bear the Berker brand for exactly 100 years. On the occasion of this double anniversary, Hager is launching a fascinating innovation: round series of Berker switches in a design that will literally take your breath away. The first illuminated round switches on our market will find their application in exclusive residential interiors, hotels, or historic buildings.
Three round series in the best light
Berker series 1930 Thanks to the materials used, black or brightly white Bakelite, the series 1930 switches are particularly suitable for renovated old buildings, but surprisingly, they also blend well with modern architecture of clean shapes and straight lines. The appearance of these switches is undeniably inspired by the original switches from the Bauhaus era, as they were developed in close collaboration with researchers and experts directly from Dessau. With their characteristic round shape, they rightfully became a classic among switches.
Berker series glas The shape's elegance that stems from its function is perfectly demonstrated by Berker series glas in the version with clear or white-printed glass complemented by a black or white Bakelite rotary knob. This range, developed in the late 1970s but inspired by much deeper historical references, embodies the timeless traditional rotary switch. With its unobtrusive glass round background and classic shape, it sensitively complements the most diverse interiors.
Berker R.classic A puristic touch: the new LED module creates an almost filigree lighting edge in the center of this switch, which outlines the rotary knob. You can choose not only high-quality plastic but also exclusive materials such as glass, stainless steel, or aluminum.
Illuminated switches – facilitating orientation or signaling status
You decide what the illumination of the switches will signal to you. Cold white in the illumination of the switches glows continuously and discreetly indicates where you can find the switch even in the dark. Warm white, on the other hand, informs whether the circuit is on or off. This switch will find its application primarily at entry points to bathrooms or toilets, as it indicates whether it is free or occupied.
Since 2010, Berker switches have been part of Hager's portfolio. They are available not only in the form of devices for traditional installations, including standard sockets, data technology, shutter switches, dimmers, motion sensors, and thermostats. Hager, based in Obernai, France, has been a specialist in electrical installations in residential and commercial properties for over 60 years. The Czech branch of Hager Electro will celebrate 25 years of its operation in the Czech Republic in 2020.
