(*1959 Brno) architect, educator, expert critic, and publicist active also abroad. He has worked in many expert juries, was a member of the Scientific-Artistic Council of the Faculty of Architecture of Czech Technical University in Prague, a member of the Academic Senate of the Faculty of Architecture of Czech Technical University in Prague, worked in the Commission of the Council of the City of Prague for Development, was the chairman of the supervisory board of the Czech Chamber of Architects and the city architect of Železný Brod. Jiran's architectural projects and realizations have been regularly published since the 1990s in domestic and foreign expert journals and books on architecture, his work has been exhibited, for example, at the Venice Biennale of Architecture, as well as at exhibitions in Berlin, Paris, Vienna, Brno, London, and New York. From 1994 to 1995, he was a member of the scientific-pedagogical collegium establishing the Faculty of Architecture at the Technical University in Liberec.
