Viktor Rudiš: About Housing - Lecture at DUMB

Architect Viktor Rudiš graduated in 1952 from architecture studies under Prof. Bedřich Rozehnal. After five years of employment at the Research Institute of Construction and Architecture, he joined Stavoprojekt in 1958, where he collaborated particularly with František Zounka to design and realize a number of residential buildings, complexes, and neighborhoods. Among the most notable are the pair of experimental residential buildings on Vinařská Street (1959), the competition for an experimental residential area in Moscow (1960, 3rd prize), the Lesná residential quarter (1960−1968), the Líšeň housing estate (1975−1982), and the residential complex U nemocnice in Litomyšl (1995−2001), designed in his own office Rudiš-Rudiš. And it is precisely the area of residential construction in our country in the second half of the 20th century that is the subject of his lecture.
