Do we all perceive the city the same way? Do we design it for cars or bicycles? For women or men? Are we creating a friendly or hostile environment for ourselves? And why is it necessary to plan cities for everyone? These questions are addressed by Canadian urban geographer, professor, and writer Leslie Kern. In 2019, she published the book Feminist City, which describes, through stories, how difficult it is for women to function in cities designed by men. How important is it, according to Leslie, to include the female perspective in urbanism? And what should cities look like for women to feel comfortable in them? These will be the questions posed by Milota Sidorová, who will be moderating Urban Talks this time.
