in the auditorium of the Academy of Fine Arts in Prague (3rd floor), U Akademie 4, Prague 7

SYLVA POLÁKOVÁ

Convergence of Film and Architecture

Film, or more generally moving image, is one of the most influential and commonly used interfaces of digital code. This code allows it to expand on one hand, but at the same time weakens its traditional status. The cinematic experience thus shatters, but simultaneously reincarnates into new forms. One of the areas that assimilates it is contemporary architecture. The lecture will focus on the convergence of the "ephemeral" medium with the "solid." Sylva Poláková from the Center for Audiovisual Studies at FAMU will illustrate general questions of transformation (the status of film and architecture, the form of the city, and the experience of the spectator-walker) through foreign and domestic projects.

You can also watch the lecture online on the ČT 24 portal or on the iVysílání pages of Czech Television, where it will later be archived.

Technical support by Diglab AVU.

May 4, Václav Hájek, Rosa rosarum. The Metaphor of the Color Pink in Mass Culture and Art
