COMTE/MEUWLY | Adrien Comte and Adrien Meuwly

A relatively young studio founded in Geneva in 2016 has quickly become one of the influential Swiss studios with its unique and precise narrative work. According to them, the most important aspect of their creation is not being afraid to test their ability to be surprised, to be fascinated by unexpected encounters and discoveries. Projects developed as a story through careful observation of everyday life, exciting experimentation, testing, and prototypes will be presented by both founders, Adrien Comte and Adrien Meuwly.
"No one actually knows how it will end. Compositions of characters, scenes, objects, places, phenomena: anchoring points, whose beauty comes from their careful assembly, from their interactions. A means of questioning and rediscovering."

Before the lecture from COMTE/MEUWLY, we are preparing the 3rd lecture in the series :references, where invited local architects will present their practice and unique understanding of everything that inspires and guides them in the creative process.
This time, architect Ján Studený has accepted the invitation to the series of lectures: references, during which he will present his own understanding of the diversity of inspiration in architecture and what the level of references means from his perspective, along with their subsequent rational to experimental transformation in creation.
"We strive to create systemic solutions that can determine the degree and manner of handling the environment and the willingness to colonize another space."
The studio ksa_studeny focuses on the research of various forms of future life, from low-energy consumption models (Mníšek, Pernek, Břeclav, Plejády) to assembling algorithms of systems in modularity, to revitalizations of residential buildings in local settings (Vyšehradská).
Ján Studený has been part of the practice in the studio ksa since 1995. (kopecký studený architekti) based in Prague, and since 2009, he has been leading the studio Sudený architekti in Bratislava. The office has worked on projects and implementations ranging from small family houses to large urban planning projects. The main focus is on architecture: from private commissions for family houses, residential buildings, public buildings to office and production buildings.

SINGULARCH is a series of lectures in the fields of architecture and urbanism, transcending into interdisciplinary spheres. The goal of the project is to bring closer the issues of shaping our environment, not only in architectural and urbanistic terms but also psychological and sociological. The main intention of SINGULARCH is to contribute proven and effective practices from around the world and to present unique projects directly from their creators. The format of lectures and discussions aims to benefit the professional public and architecture students, serve as education for everyone, as well as a first step toward a certain change and raising interest in developments in our area. Since 2012, architects have presented: Ronald Rietveld (Rietveld Landscape, Amsterdam), Kersten Geers (OFFICE Kersten Geers David Van Severen, Brussels), RAUM (Nantes), FALA (Porto), Bureau B+B (Amsterdam), FAKT (Berlin), RAAMWERK (Brussels), CIRCOLO-A (Genoa), TAB (Vienna), Toni Gironés Saderra (Barcelona), ORA (Znojmo), KOSMOS (Moscow), Langarita–Navarro (Madrid), ov–a (Prague), Paradigma Ariadné (Budapest), Atelier Fanelsa (Berlin), Malý Chmel (České Budějovice), Opposite Office (Munich), Point Supreme (Athens), FALSE MIRROR OFFICE (Genoa), HYPERSPANDREL (Seoul) and SALOTTOBUONO (Milan). We are very pleased that in 2022 our next invitation was accepted by architects Adrien Comte and Adrien Meuwly from the Swiss studio COMTE/MEUWLY. We believe that their work will be inspiring for all of us.
