Petr Kratochvíl focuses on the history of modern and contemporary architecture and urbanism, and in recent years has primarily concentrated on current issues in the creation of urban public space and the topic of green architecture (for example, he was the curator of a similarly named exhibition at the Jaroslav Fragner Gallery). Among other things, he is a co-author or editor of the books Aesthetics of Sustainable Architecture (2020) and Public Space in Danger? Current Issues of Urban Public Space from the Perspective of Social Sciences (2018). He also participates in collective projects researching contemporary world and Czech architecture and specific questions regarding the relationship between new architecture and historical environments.
