The fourteenth continuation of the presentation evening called Pecha Kucha Night Brno will take place on October 1, 2014, focusing on elections and decisions. All political parties that have decided to run in the municipal elections in Brno this October, as well as other organizations dealing with various life choices in their practice, have been invited to present their visions and themes. The event will occur in the newly launched cultural space Prague, located at Husova 18 - in the courtyard of the Pražák Palace.
[Pecha Kucha] is a Japanese term for chit-chat, but also a way to introduce interesting people, ideas, and projects. In addition to a brisk presentation, each participant has a limit of 6 minutes and 40 seconds (20 images x 20 seconds), the evening is primarily about meeting architects, artists, and other creatives and scientists. It is also about their confrontation, connection, and introducing the public to their ideas. The format, designed by Klein Dytham architecture, has gained popularity worldwide since its launch in 2003, and has been held in Brno since 2009.
Each Pecha Kucha Night we organize in Brno has its own theme and focus. This time we have been inspired by an important moment in the history of every city, which are undoubtedly the elections to the council. Therefore, we have invited all political parties that have decided to run in the municipal elections in Brno, regardless of their beliefs and orientations. Moreover, initiatives and individuals concern themselves with the fate of cities and the people living in them or who come across fateful choices in various meanings of the word in their profession.
The fourteenth edition of Pecha Kucha Night Brno, themed "elections and decisions," will be the first event to occur in the new variable cultural space PRAHA. It will be operated from October 2014 in the courtyard of the Pražák Palace by the 4AM association/Forum for Architecture and Media in cooperation with the Moravian Gallery.
