The last lecture of this year's cycle on the topic of City Development and Planning will take us to the nearby Litomyšl, which the professional architectural community looks up to as a city where interesting and quality architecture is being created that transcends the regional framework.
The architecture and urbanism of Litomyšl will be presented to us by architect Zdeňka Vydrová on December 11, 2014, at 19:00 in Pardubice's Divadlo 29, who has been working here as an external city architect since 1992. As she herself writes: "The form of cooperation and my placement within the structure of the municipal government has been gradually sought." How this search turned out and what results it brought can already be seen today in the city, which we can say has become the "salon of architecture" of the turn of the millennium and has taken this designation from Hradec Králové.
How did the city manage to find good architects for public buildings? What is the experience with architectural competitions? What are the reactions of local residents? What will be the future of this city? What other projects are planned in Litomyšl? And what is the experience of external cooperation with the city?
