We invite you to the third lecture of November Talks2022 at the Faculty of Architecture CTU, where on Monday, November 21, 2022, at 6:00 PM, American architect Karen Cook will speak.
How can a high-rise building positively impact its surroundings? How can architects navigate a complex site, lead parties with diametrically different opinions, and execute a project, all in the challenging global context of climate change and cost pressure? Karen Cook will answer these questions using the example of the office building 22 Bishopsgate in London, which she realized as a founding partner of PLP Architecture.
American architect Karen Cook is a graduate of Harvard University Graduate School of Design. In 2022, she co-founded the studio Spice Design with Jean Le Lay. Among the projects she has participated in are 22 Bishopgate in London, Danube House and Nile House in Prague's Karlín, and Tour First in the Parisian district of La Défense.
November Talks 2022 will be held for four November Mondays, always at 6:00 PM – November 7 (Winy Maas), November 14 (Alice Cabaret), November 21 (Karen Cook), and November 28 (Carlo Ratti) – in lecture hall 155 Gočár, Faculty of Architecture CTU, Thákurova 9, Prague 6.
Lectures in English are intended for a broad audience, entry is free and accessible. A welcome drink will be served from 5:30 PM, along with an informal meeting with the speakers.
The November Talks series has been supported by the Sto Foundation since 2006 and takes place at selected European architecture schools.
