Ontologically closest is ontologically farthest. (Martin Heidegger)
There are many things that we take for granted, and we build further knowledge and understanding upon them. However, we often do not examine fundamental issues. Is it really clear to everyone what urbanism is and what its essential themes are? Where does the architect appear in it and where does he lose his place? Where does he clumsily intrude into other disciplines and abandon his own? When do we support the emptiness of clichés and when do we seek quality? Based on such questioning, the INVENTORY OF URBANISM emerges as a cycle of intensive meetings, a platform aimed at periodically mapping the state of urbanism in the Czech Republic and thus facilitating the reflection of the field.
