The guest of the lecture series Architecture Today will be Jindřich Vybíral

Olomouc, May 11 - Jindřich Vybíral from the Academy of Art, Architecture and Design in Prague will be the next guest in the lecture series Architecture Today at the Museum of Art Olomouc (MUO) on Thursday, May 18. The author of books and many professional articles, papers, and studies has prepared a lecture titled Architecture of Discipline and Mobilization for the Olomouc audience. "Professor Vybíral currently specializes in 19th-century ornamental architecture, but he will interpret the architecture of neoclassicism from the Stalinist era, focusing on it as the main and official current of socialist realism architecture," said art historian Jakub Potůček, who organizes the lectures at MUO.
Since the beginning of this year, the Museum of Art has been inviting leading experts to Olomouc. The past lectures have seen high attendance. The last guest of MUO this school year will be Petr Kratochvíl from the Institute of Art History of the Czech Academy of Sciences, who will speak on June 12 about Czech exile architects.
The lectures take place always at 4:30 PM in the Lounge Hall of the Museum of Art.
