The Academic Senate of the AAAD in Prague elected the current rector of UMPRUM, Prof. PhDr. PaedDr. Jindřich Vybíral, DSc., as a candidate for rector on Monday, November 21, 2022. He is expected to resume his position after being appointed by the President of the Czech Republic in February 2023.
Elections for a new rector of UMPRUM were announced on October 10, 2022. Prof. Jindřich Vybíral was the only candidate. He presented his program to the academic community at a public meeting on November 8, and on November 21, 2022, the Academic Senate of UMPRUM decided on his continuation in leading the school.
During his current term, Jindřich Vybíral launched the new Technology Center of UMPRUM, to which most of the workshop facilities were relocated. He intends to continue these activities in the future.

He is a member of the Scientific Council of the National Gallery, the National Heritage Institute, and the University of Ostrava, as well as a member of the editorial board of the journal Art. His research focuses on the history of architecture of the 19th and 20th centuries and the methodology of art history. He is the author of dozens of scholarly studies and book publications.
