On Tuesday, March 24, 2015, at 7:30 PM, there will be a lecture by arch. Jan Sapák about the work of Bohuslav Fuchs in the Břetislav Bakala Hall at Žerotínovo náměstí 6 in Brno. The significant Brno architect will remind us of the legacy of his older colleague. On the occasion of the 120th anniversary of this giant of architecture's birth, Brno residents can learn more about the essence of his work and the significant imprint he has left on the city's face in an innovative way. Bohuslav Fuchs was a leading figure in the birth and development of modern architecture and urbanism at the international level. This talented and prolific creator encompassed all aspects that combine architecture and the creation of living space. He is the author of phenomenal and world-renowned works - the Avion Hotel, the Pavilion of the City of Brno, the baths in Zábrdovice, the Masaryk Student Home, and the still-discussed urban plan for Brno known as "Tangenta".
