The Faculty of Architecture of CTU warmly invites you to a series of lectures by British architects, urban planners, engineers, and landscape architects titled Best of British. The lectures will take place from November 6 to December 4, 2014, every Thursday at 6:30 PM at the Faculty of Architecture CTU in Prague-Dejvice.

The construction as a business card and the essence of the success of British modern architecture will be presented by Chris Wise, a professor at the prestigious University College London and one of the most prominent structural engineers in Great Britain. Since beginning his career in 1979 at Ove Arup and Partners, he has been focused on the static analysis of construction structures. The VeloPark stadium for the 2012 Olympics in London (Hopkins Architects), in which Chris Wise participated, received the International Association for Bridges and Structural Engineering Award in 2013 for its unique and innovative structural solution.

The lecture series is organized by the Faculty of Architecture CTU with the support and under the patronage of the British Embassy in Prague, offering CTU students and the general public a unique opportunity to personally get acquainted with the current state of architecture and design in Great Britain. Admission to the lectures is free.
