Rem Koolhaas

We warmly invite you to participate in the lecture

Dwelling / Bernarda Leupena,

Dutch architect, educator, and architecture theorist, who will speak in Prague on the topic of housing and the transformations of its forms over time.

The lecture will take place on Tuesday, March 22, at 6:30 PM at the Faculty of Architecture CTU in Prague.

It will be preceded by a screening of the film Leaning Towers, which Bernard Leupen has brought to Prague and which captures the life and architectural work of Rem Koolhaas. The film will start at 5:00 PM in lecture hall 111.

The lecture is part of a series dedicated to the typology of building types, organized by the Institute of Building Science. Individual lectures by foreign guests will gradually introduce building types that we encounter most frequently in practice and use – housing, educational buildings, offices, etc. The goal is to show the significance of typology as a scientific discipline, to describe what developments in new building types and their combinations can be observed in the contemporary world, and what methods can be used to grasp and study these new forms. One of the key questions also involves the possibilities of linking research with the public or private sector that realizes these building types.

Entry to the event is free.
