Conference of the Architecture Department of the Faculty of Civil Engineering VŠB-TU in Ostrava, held on October 13-14, 2016, in the NA2 hall of the New Aula of the Technical University of Ostrava.

We would like to invite you for the eighth time to the international and interdisciplinary conference dedicated to architecture and urbanism, which this time will take place on the occasion of the 10th anniversary of the establishment of the architecture department in Ostrava.
The organizers aim to continue the discussion on the relationship of society to architecture and urbanism. Representatives from fields other than architecture also have the opportunity to present contributions, thereby opening up space for further questions. It is therefore possible to submit articles from the social sciences, economics, geography, construction, and others.
The purpose of the conference is to search for and evaluate the current state of knowledge in architecture with the shortest history in an open discussion, not only from the perspective of various fields but also based on experiences from different countries with their distinct developments and approaches.
Contributions will be published in a printed proceedings with an ISBN, which will be submitted for evaluation on the Web of Science (the previous year’s edition was included in WoS).
 
Topics of contributions may relate to the following areas:
1. Urbanism and public space of cities
2. Contemporary housing and civic amenities
3. Contemporary architectural trends
4. Restoration and conversion of buildings and architectural complexes
5. Ecological aspects in architecture

Participation fees:
Participant with an article in the proceedings: 600 CZK + 250 CZK / standard page of text (standard page = 1800 characters + 1 image)
Contribution without publication in the proceedings: 600 CZK
Participation in the conference as a co-author: 600 CZK
Commercial presentation (15 minutes): 5000 CZK

You will receive a notification of acceptance/rejection of your contribution by June 10, 2016.
Final texts (in Czech, Slovak, Polish, or English) must be sent no later than July 31, 2016, according to the instructions you will receive by email.

You will receive a notification of acceptance/rejection of your contribution by June 10, 2016. The organizers reserve the right not to accept the proposed contribution.

Additional proceedings (authors will automatically receive 1 copy) 200 CZK
Social evening 400 CZK (can be paid on-site)
The working languages of the conference will be Czech, Slovak, Polish, and English.
