"Individual construction volumes can be realized gradually. First, the engineering networks and toilets will be prioritized, which are a fundamental improvement for the operation of the swimming pool. Then there will be a public sauna, a sales booth, new changing rooms or showers. The steel structure will be complemented by wooden facade surfaces and a metal roof," said the chairman of the association, which consists of architects from the Mjölk studio, a pub owner, and an economist. The funding for the construction of the swimming pool's facilities, which has a history of more than 70 years, is expected to be raised from grants, sponsors, or donors. The project for the construction of the facilities was successful in Liberec within the so-called participatory budget, where residents of the city decide on the allocation of a part of the funds. This year, it received the most support. A total of 1127 people voted for it, twice as many as for the second most successful project. The association aims to maintain the romantic character of the natural swimming area in the middle of the forest, therefore the goal is not to increase summer attendance. "We want people to visit all year round," Vondrák stated. According to him, the swimming pool is already popular among winter swimmers. "There is quite a large community in Liberec. When we go there, as many as 15 might be swimming," he added.
