Ostrava - The issuance of building permits for all constructions should, according to the planned building law, take a maximum of one year, said the Minister for Regional Development Klára Dostálová (ANO) to journalists today in Ostrava. The current average time to obtain a building permit is, according to her, 5.5 years in the Czech Republic.
"We have proposed it so that there is one office, one permit, and within one year, which means including all appeals and reviews, that is very important," said the minister. However, according to her, this does not mean that the permit for all constructions should take a whole year, because even now permits for simple constructions do not take 5.5 years. The minister stated that especially for public-benefit or linear constructions, the issuance of permits sometimes takes much longer than 5.5 years.
"Since we need to build within the framework of the competitiveness of the Czech Republic, we need to change processes and set deadlines so that the investor knows from start to finish, even if there are all appeals and all reviews, whether they can carry out the construction or not within one year at the latest," said Dostálová.
Ostrava's mayor Tomáš Macura (ANO) said that he would like to achieve having the highest building authority headquartered in Ostrava. "Because Ostrava, as the third largest city in the republic, still has no central state administration body," stated Macura.
