Žďár nad Sázavou - In Žďár nad Sázavou, people can vote on the color of the new facade of the municipal theater in a poll. They can choose from three options. The ballot can be dropped into a voting box or sent electronically by February 5. The new city leadership wants to regularly ask the public for their opinions in polls, Mayor Zdeněk Navrátil (Žďár - Live City association) told reporters today.
The results of the polls will be an important advisory voice for the city hall. "We bear the responsibility, which means the final decision will be ours," Navrátil said. In the case of the facade color of the theater, the city hall is prepared to accept the poll's outcome. "The city leadership stands by all three options," the mayor noted. The poll has been running since January 20. 287 people voted electronically by last Tuesday, and no one has yet counted the votes in the five prepared boxes.
The theater building was remodeled in a functionalist style in the late 1970s. The facade modifications associated with insulation will cost nearly 25 million crowns, and the city has a promised grant for them. People can decide whether the current gray facade of the theater will have areas with a burgundy color reminiscent of the theater curtain after the repairs, or if a blue or green color will be chosen instead.
Improving communication with citizens was part of the program with which the Žďár - Live City association surprisingly won the last municipal elections in the town. The next issue of the Žďár newspaper will involve a poll related to the facade color of the Morava hotel, which the city will insulate this year.
According to the mayor, the polls should follow the topics that the city hall wants to discuss each month at meetings with the public. A meeting regarding planned internal renovations of the Vysočina cinema, costing over 20 million crowns, will be held on February 4, where interested parties will meet directly in the cinema hall.
