In the final competition for the new ČS headquarters in Prague, there are three projects

Prague - The new headquarters of Česká spořitelna in Smíchov will be built according to one of three designs that reached the final of the architectural competition. The finalists include projects from the Austrian-Czech architectural office Baumschlager Eberle Architekten/Pavel Hnilička architekti, the Swedish Tham Videgard Arkitekter, and the German Kleihues + Kleihues. A decision on which design will be realized will be made at the turn of summer and autumn. ČTK was informed of this today by ČS spokesperson Filip Hrubý.

The headquarters of Česká spořitelna in the southern part of the Smíchov City project will begin construction in 2021, with completion expected two years later. The current headquarters of the savings bank is located on Olbrachtova Street in Prague 4.

A total of 166 architectural firms applied for the competition, which the savings bank announced last September and which consists of two rounds. The jury, composed of bank representatives and independent experts, selected 15 firms from eight countries to develop specific proposals for the new savings campus. This March, six designs progressed to the second round, and three designs were selected in June.

The savings bank's headquarters will take the form of a campus, which will include, in addition to administrative spaces, services used by bank employees and the public. "I believe that our new campus will become a real community center for the residents of Smíchov and for Prague citizens, where they will also be able to experience interesting exhibitions or concerts. The headquarters of Erste in Vienna is a great inspiration for us in this sense, as it is a natural part of community life in Vienna," said ČS CEO Tomáš Salomon.

The land is owned by the development company Sekyra Group, and the project spans a total of 216,099 square meters.

Česká spořitelna is the largest bank in the Czech Republic by the number of clients, with 4.7 million customers. Its main shareholder is the Austrian Erste Group.
