Prague - The State Environmental Fund (SFŽP) has processed over 61,000 applications in the Green Savings subsidy program, half of which have been paid out. Over the next three months, the SFŽP will disburse funds to more than 8,000 applicants. Another 16,000 applications are pending implementation. This was reported today by SFŽP spokeswoman Lenka Brandtová.
People who receive subsidies in the next three months have already implemented their projects. "These are the ones whose applications were approved by the fund's council in April and were also approved last week by the buyers of emission credits within the entire process," Brandtová stated.
For the additional 16,000 applications pending implementation, the fund is sending approved contracts to applicants. During the past week, 3,500 contracts were sent out.
In the first two years of the Green Savings program in 2009 and 2010, subsidies amounting to two billion crowns were disbursed, and this year so far, after five months, it is 3.3 billion. Thus, a total amount of approximately 5.3 billion crowns has already been paid out to 31,000 applicants within the Green Savings program.
The Green Savings program was launched in April 2009 and is intended to support energy savings and the use of renewable energy sources in residential buildings. Assistance is provided in the form of non-entitled grants. The ministry suspended the acceptance of grant applications last October due to their high volume. It initially planned for the break to last until the end of January. Currently, the ministry has no plans to reopen the program.
