Prague - The gates of the For Arch 2011 construction fair will open on Wednesday at the exhibition grounds in Prague-Letňany. According to information from the organizing company ABF, 769 exhibitors will gather there, which is five percent less than last year. The central theme of the fair will be low-energy buildings. Exhibitors have rented a total of approximately 17,076 square meters of net exhibition space this year. Compared to last year, this is nine percent less space. In addition to the interest in energy-efficient construction due to high energy prices, the main theme of the fair is also related to the directive adopted by the European Commission last year regarding the energy performance of buildings. The regulation states that by December 31, 2018, EU member states must ensure that all new buildings used and owned by public authorities are nearly zero-energy buildings. From the end of 2020, all new buildings will have to comply with this standard. The gates of For Arch will open at the exhibition grounds in Prague-Letňany from September 21 to 25. In parallel with the main exhibition, there will also be the For Therm fair for heating, alternative energy sources, and air conditioning, the For Wood fair for wooden construction, and the For Elektro fair for electrical engineering, lighting technology, and security systems. Those interested in sports buildings will also find something for themselves at the Sport Tech exhibition. As part of the accompanying program, entrepreneurs in photovoltaics will present the latest developments and trends in the field. The Association of Construction Entrepreneurs will organize a conference on construction challenges in Prague's transportation infrastructure. In addition to regular urban transport lines, bus 758 will also be prepared for visitors to the fair, which will transport them on the route Letňany - Výstaviště Letňany. This line is primarily intended for persons with reduced orientation and mobility abilities.
