Brno - The construction of a new emergency station for the Emergency Medical Service of the South Moravian Region (ZZS JmK) began today in Brno-Černovice with the laying of the foundation stone. It is expected to be completed by the end of August, informed the director of ZZS JmK, Milan Klusák. The construction costs amount to over 40 million crowns. "We decided on a change in the concept of the emergency medical service three years ago. The paramedics currently operate from a century-old building in the center, from which they frequently dispatched to full operations. The construction of new facilities in Černovice will make their work easier, ensuring that help reaches every citizen or visitor of the South Moravian Region," said the South Moravian governor Michal Hašek (ČSSD). He also reminded that a new building in Bohunice has been in operation for a year now, and another station will be established in Ponav. "All our administration and technical support is located in Bohunice. The construction in Černovice will be completed by the end of August so that two emergency teams with a doctor can operate from there in the fall, along with one emergency team during the day and night," Klusák said. In addition, medical personnel will also provide air rescue services during night hours. "This pertains not only to the residents of the South Moravian Region but also to the Olomouc, Zlín, Pardubice, and Vysočina regions," listed the ambulance director. The emergency base will be a simple two-story building in the shape of a cuboid, covering an area of more than 600 square meters. Preliminary and construction works will cost over 40 million crowns. Following the completion of the facility in Černovice, there are plans for a building in Ponav.
