In Brno, another swimming pool has opened to the public, delighting swimmers

Brno - Interested parties for conditioning and recreational swimming have gained another place to go in Brno. In the neighborhood of Řečkovice, the company Galant has opened a sports complex that includes a twenty-five-meter swimming pool with six lanes. It was built with the assistance of the city of Brno and the region. Grants covered 40 percent of the costs, while 60 percent came from private sources, said Michal Kočař, the company's director.
    The pool is intended to serve sports clubs, and children are supposed to learn to swim there in school courses. The swimming school Rybka, which operates under the company, offers courses for children and young people. It plans to open classes for adults as well, including complete non-swimmers.
    According to the head, Zlatic Kočařová, they start with the breaststroke, which is the simplest. Only when the swimmers master it do they learn the crawl, which is more demanding in terms of breathing. "Only after mastering these two swimming styles do we move on to teaching the coordinatively more demanding swimming style - the breaststroke," she stated.
    The building is conceived as economical, according to Kočař, and it is neither a wellness center nor an aquapark. In addition to the swimming pool, there is a small pool with water at a temperature of 32 degrees Celsius, which serves for warming up and relaxation, as well as a gym and a place to sit for coffee and refreshments.
    The sports complex on Družstevní Street aims to help supplement swimming options in Brno, which until recently were limited. The offer was also expanded by the aquapark in the Kohoutovice neighborhood, which was built by the municipality for 210 million crowns. It opened in the spring. The city also recently acquired a swimming stadium at Lužánky with the only fifty-meter pool in Brno. It urgently needs renovation, but a project has not yet been developed.
