A new parking garage will be built in Brno near the city center

Brno - A new parking garage will be built on Kopečná Street near the center of Brno. It will provide motorists with 88 parking spaces. There is a shortage of parking in the city center. The parking garage will cost more than 60 million crowns. The investor is Brněnské komunikace. City representatives stated this to reporters today.
      "Parking in Brno is a problem, that is nothing new. I hope that Brno residents will start using the parking garage in about a year," said the mayor of the Brno-střed district, Libor Šťástka.
      The parking garage on Kopečná will consist of three parking towers with separate entries. Each will have seven layers of parking spaces. Access for vehicles and service traffic to the parking garage is proposed from Kopečná Street.
      The new building will be connected at the highest floor by a pedestrian bridge to Husova Street, significantly facilitating access to the city center and, for example, to the building of the Brno city hall.
      The investor of the parking garage is the city company Brněnské komunikace a.s., which has received a mandate from the city for the preparation and construction of parking garages in Brno. The construction is expected to be completed at the turn of September and October 2013. The contractor for the construction is the consortium Komfort - Stavoprogres.
