The authorities did not approve the atypical construction of Okamura's family house

Prague - The building authority and the urban development committee of Prague 6 did not approve the construction of an atypical family house that Tomio Okamura, the leader of Dawn, wanted to build near Ladronka. Adam Halmoši, a spokesperson for Prague 6, stated this in response to a query from ČTK. According to the authority, the house, consisting of several tubes of different heights and diameters, does not meet the conditions for constructing a family house in the given location. However, according to Okamura, this is not a rejection of the building.
    Okamura submitted an architectural study for evaluation to the officials last year. Initially, the building authority rejected it. On Tuesday, the committee also confirmed the decision. "This is a proposal for a three-story house that does not meet the character of a family house in terms of the decree on general technical requirements for construction in the capital city of Prague, which states that a family house can have a maximum of two above-ground floors," Halmoši stated.
    The opposition leader of Dawn wanted to build the house on a plot located on Nad Tejnkou Street in Prague 6. In response to the information from Prague 6, Okamura told ČTK that some issues in the project were unclear to the assessing authorities, such as where the attic would be, whether the house would be situated at a sufficient distance from the sidewalk or from the property boundary. "These are technical matters that will be further discussed, and nothing has been rejected," the politician asserts.
    According to him, the authorities issued a territorial decision for the construction of the family house on his plot a long time ago, and currently only the dimensions of the proposed house are being addressed. "Now, they will be providing clarification on what exactly is unclear to them, but they cannot prevent the construction of a family house there," Okamura stated.
