Brno - The project for the long-prepared sports facility near the Anthropos museum pavilion in Brno needs to be revised. The building authority recently revoked the construction permit. It thus complied with the objections from some participants in the proceedings, while rejecting others, Anna Dudková from the Brno city council stated today on the city's website. During the proceedings, neighbors raised objections against the construction.

"After reviewing all the opinions from the appeals authorities, the city withdrew the application for a joint building permit for the 1st phase of the Anthropos project. It will now be necessary to revise the project with a focus on the land that was transferred to the city by the Ministry of Defense. The recreational-sports complex will remain the goal of the project. Sports facilities for climbing, inline skating, small football, or futsal will be created. The shooting range and gym facilities will undergo reconstruction. Transportation connections will also be built," Dudková stated.

City representatives are now awaiting discussions on the next steps with the contractor for the first phase, which is the company Metrostav DIZ. The first phase will mainly involve the demolition of part of the current facilities, the complete preparation of engineering networks, and the construction of sports facilities such as inline tracks, a multi-purpose sand pitch, a pump track, or football fields. The costs amount to 177 million crowns excluding tax. Brno took over an unused area in Pisárky from the Ministry of Defense in 2019. At that time, the establishment of the sports facility was expected by the end of this year.
