Artists in Zlín will open their studios to the public in April

Žlín - Artists, architects, and craftspeople in Zlín will open their studios, workshops, and exhibition spaces to the public in mid-April as part of the Open Studios Days event. Visitors will be welcomed by sculptor Radim Hanke, who created the sculptures of Tomáš and Jan Antonín Baťa and the statue of Emil Zátopek in Zlín. The architectural and design studio Ellement, which worked on the revitalization of Gahur's Boulevard, as well as Zlín painter and poet Jaroslav Kovanda, will also be open.
ČTK was informed by Michaela Mitáčková, spokesperson for the Baťa Institute, where the regional gallery of visual arts that organizes the event is located.
"During the weekend, visitors will have a unique opportunity to visit around ten studios and meet the authors who work in various visual arts fields. The offerings are diverse, ranging from traditional painting, sculpture, and ceramics studios to modern photography, design, and multimedia studios," said the event organizer and gallery staff member Klára Kollárová.
Schools will also participate in the event, showcasing the graphic design studio of the Zlín University, the painting, graphics, and sculpture studio of the local private higher vocational school, where students from the theater and drama department will also perform an excerpt from Erben's Bouquet. An audiovisual performance will take place at the Sokolovna in Zlín-Malenovice, followed by an afterparty.
However, the organizers did not forget about children in the program. They can come with their parents to create in the studios of the regional gallery and also in the creative workshop and small home café My Workshop, noted Kollárová.
The Open Studios Days will take place in Zlín on April 11 and 12. The regional gallery joined the organization of this nationwide event for the first time this year.
