Telč (Jihlava Region) - Workers will start construction on the winter stadium in Telč in spring. A private company will build the new sports facility based on a concession agreement with the town hall, and it will also ensure the stadium's operation at its own expense for 20 years. The city will pay 76 million crowns for the construction in six installments. If everything goes according to plan, the first skaters will hit the new ice surface in December. This was stated by Telč mayor Roman Fabeš.

The contract with the Brno-based company H + H Technika was approved by the city council last December. "We are still waiting for confirmation of the concession agreement from the Ministry of Finance, which should come any day now. The zoning decision has been issued, and the building permit is in progress," Fabeš described the current state of preparations. The first stage of construction includes the demolition of the old changing rooms at the football stadium, next to which the new winter stadium will be built. The current winter stadium on Hradecká Street is outdated, and the city will seek other uses for that site.
The same private investor also built a winter stadium in Bystřice nad Pernštejnem under similar conditions last year in the Vysočina region. He committed to operate it for 15 years without city subsidies. The Bystřice city hall will gradually pay him 57 million crowns for the construction.
The Telč authorities are now considering further cooperation with the private investor regarding the renovation of the former school dormitory building on Batelovská Street. The city would like to have a modern nursing home in it, which, according to initial estimates, would cost 130 million crowns. A study to assess the financing options for the construction and operation of the home has been commissioned by the city at the end of last year. Currently, there are 59 people living in the nursing home in Telč, and others are waiting for a place. The new home is expected to have 60 beds and an additional 30 places for seniors suffering from dementia.
