On Wednesday, April 15, 2015, at 6:30 PM, the fifteenth volume of the editorial series Yearbooks Czech Architecture 2013-2014 was launched in the Techo showroom in Prague's Hostivař. This year's editor was Brno architect and dean of the Faculty of Art and Architecture in Liberec, Zdeněk Fránek, who selected 33 of the most inspirational buildings from the past two years. The book focuses on subtly reconstructed small buildings in historical settings, as well as experimental projects sensitively placed in nature. The wide range of houses spans from large shopping centers in urban areas to ecological buildings in protected landscape areas.
Another topic that the yearbook addresses is the way Czech architecture can succeed abroad. This year's selection of buildings covers the entire territory of the Czech Republic, but in the end, Moravia slightly prevails, where "it simply flourished."
During the festive evening, philosopher Petr Rezek presented the yearbook, whose Slavonice house you can also find in the current publication of Prostor publishing.
