The Academic Senate of the AAAD (Vysoká škola umělecko-průmyslová) in Prague elected a new rector of the school on November 8, 2006. He became PhDr. Pavel Liška. Pavel Liška is a historian of art and a curator. He studied at universities in Hamburg, Berlin, and Osnabrück and worked for years in the Federal Republic of Germany. In the mid-90s, he led the Department of Art History and Architecture at the Faculty of Architecture at TU in Liberec and from 1997 to 2001, he was the director of the House of Arts of the City of Brno. For the last five years, he has worked as the director of Kunstforum Ostdeutsche Galerie in Regensburg. The proposal to appoint Pavel Liška as the rector of the school will be submitted to the President of the Czech Republic through the Ministry of Education, Youth and Sports of the Czech Republic, as required by law.
