Olomouc - The town hall in Zábřeh in the Šumperk region has announced a public tender for a construction company to modify the area in front of the local train station. The investment, which will create new parking spaces among other things in front of the railway station, is estimated to cost around 50 million crowns according to city estimates. This was stated by the deputy mayor Milan Kratochvíl to ČTK.

The town hall will require the winner of the competition to modify the area in front of the train station from mid-August to mid-November. "By that time, the modernization of the station funded by the railway will be completed. The reconstruction of the forecourt will follow this project," Kratochvíl stated.
According to him, the modifications of the area in front of the station will include the construction of new parking lots, sidewalks, access roads, and repairs of the local bus station. "The area by the train station is the main transport hub in the city. However, the current solution for the forecourt does not correspond to that. If we want people to use the railway, we must create the conditions for them to do so," the deputy mayor added.
The town hall will strive to obtain subsidies for the project. For example, it will receive ten million crowns from the Olomouc Region.
