Rožnov pod Radhoštěm – The town hall in Rožnov pod Radhoštěm in the Vsetín region is preparing to build a sports hall. Outside of the summer season, residents face challenges with the capacity of indoor sports facilities in the city, so at a city council meeting, the councilors approved the preparation for the construction of a municipal sports hall, spokesperson Petra Graclíková informed ČTK in a press release today.
One of the main reasons, according to her, is the possibility of financing the construction through a grant. "The National Sports Agency has announced a grant title, under which it is possible to obtain up to 70 percent of the financial resources for the construction of a sports hall," the spokesperson stated.
The first step is to form a working group that will focus on the preparation of the construction. At the April meeting of the council, the potential inclusion in this year’s budget for the sixteen-thousand-inhabitant town will be discussed.
"We are currently looking for the most suitable location for the hall to be built. Ideally, it should be located near one of the elementary or secondary schools. After initial research on suitable plots and discussions with specific schools, we are considering locations near the 5th of May Elementary School or the Secondary School of Informatics, Electrical Engineering, and Crafts. Further discussions are planned here," said Deputy Mayor Jan Kučera (Independent Rožnov Residents).
