Ústí nad Labem

ÚSTÍ NAD LABEM - The first phase of the revitalization of the center of Ústí nad Labem is one month behind schedule. According to the timetable, the reconstruction of Hrnčířská Street was supposed to be completed by December 31. Due to complications with the relocation of utility networks, the work on this section will be extended by one month, according to the deputy mayor of Ústí, Jan Kubata.

However, since it was possible to start work on the second phase, which includes the actual Mírové Square and the adjacent Klášterní Street, Kubata is convinced that the deadline for the completion of the entire reconstruction of the city center this August will be met by the general contractor, Stavby silnic a železnic.
The reconstruction of Ústí's Mírové Square and the surrounding streets, which began last July, will cost approximately 150 million crowns. The city will obtain 92.4 million crowns from structural funds, and the state budget will contribute 15.4 million crowns. The remaining more than 42 million crowns will be covered by the city from its budget.
The most extensive modifications to the center of Ústí since the end of World War II include, for example, the construction of new utility networks, installation of new public transport stops, new road surfaces, basalt and granite paving, and the planting of a hornbeam and pear tree alley in Hrnčířská Street, along with other greenery in the square area. New benches, drinking fountains, fountains, poster rolls, and lighting will also serve the residents.
New commercial and administrative buildings are already gradually rising on Mírové Square. Next to the Sever and Špalíček complexes is a new building of HVB Bank. The company AZ Sanace is planning the construction of the Palace Zdar. In the vicinity of Mírové Square, the company AM Development is expected to build a large commercial and entertainment center within two years.
