Přelouč (Pardubice) - Dozens of officials from Přelouč are likely to move to a new office in the coming years. Many of them currently work in rented spaces, so the city has decided to construct a new town hall. The costs for the new building are estimated to be around 100 million crowns. The project was reported by Mayor Irena Burešová to ČTK.

"In rented spaces, we are unnecessarily paying rent, which amounts to a million crowns a year. We would like to start construction next spring," said Burešová.
However, the city cannot pay for the expensive construction all at once with a budget of approximately 196 million crowns, so it will sell unnecessary property. The city expects to raise about 40 million crowns from the sale of municipal forests. "European subsidies are out of the question; we will pay part of the investment from the city’s funds," Burešová added.
The new building is expected to be located in the central square, where currently 35 officials are housed in an old building. The city rents offices for another 50 officials. The city does not want to completely abandon the old buildings; it plans to establish cultural facilities there. According to Burešová, the city lacks exhibition space, for example. The city aims to secure European funds for the renovation of the building.
