Prague - The Prague City Hall will have a project prepared for the construction of a parking garage in Dědina, Prague 6. The councilors decided on this today. The building for approximately 250 cars is intended to compensate for the loss of parking spaces that will result from the planned construction of a new tram line. The estimated cost of the design work is 4.5 million crowns.
Prague 6, in collaboration with the city hall, has announced an architectural competition for the appearance of the parking garage, which the jury evaluated at the end of this June. The winning design includes an open facade of the building and a parking lot on the roof. The city hall must document the preparation of the parking garage before it can obtain a zoning decision for the construction of the tram line. They hope to accomplish this by the end of the year.
Regarding the previous competition, the project will be developed for the city hall by the winner, the company Ivan Kroupa Architects. It will not be an open tender, but rather a so-called negotiated procedure without publication, which allows directly contacting a pre-selected bidder.
The extension of the tracks from Divoká Šárka to Dědina is to measure 2.3 kilometers and is expected to have five stops. It should cost approximately 893.2 million crowns.
