Prague - Prague is looking for companies to build an operational center in Malovanka and provide technology for it. Therefore, it has announced two contracts with a total value of 1.1 billion crowns excluding VAT. The contracts have been posted on Prague's official bulletin board and in the public procurement register. In the first contract, the metropolitan area is seeking a company to construct the Malovanka center. The building will house, among other things, the traffic dispatch center currently located on Na Bojišti street, as well as dispatch offices for the police, municipal police, firefighters, and the rescue service. There will also be a backup data storage facility for the Prague city hall, and traffic in the under-construction Blanka tunnel will be managed from there. The value of this contract is 730 million crowns excluding VAT. The second contract, valued at 370 million crowns excluding VAT, concerns the supply of technology for the Malovanka operational center. This contract also includes the relocation and modernization of current dispatch centers that are located throughout Prague. Prague is accepting bids for both tenders until mid-May. The operational center will be located above the outlet of the Strahov tunnel in the area where the northwestern part of the City Ring Road will connect in 2014, which includes the Blanka tunnel complex. The construction of the center will take several years, and this year Prague has allocated 200 million crowns for this project in its budget. Local residents are opposed to the construction of the multi-story building. They hoped that the area would remain green space.
