Rakovník - Work on the Rakovník space Na Sekyře will begin in the spring. The area is located in the city center near the library. The town hall is preparing a complete transformation of it. On Tuesday, they temporarily installed statues of two horses. Their author is professor and academic sculptor Michal Gabriel, who has lent them to the city for free.
"The statues will remain in the space until work begins," said today the spokesperson of the Rakovník town hall, Alida Štulajterová, to ČTK. The town wants to diversify the currently unused space. The statues were also exhibited in the summer at the Prague Piazzetta of the National Theatre as part of the Sculpture line festival.
The complete transformation of the space, costing several million crowns, is to be completed next year. "The town should announce the tender still this year," the spokesperson noted. A traversable water area with fountains will be created at Na Sekyře. This is intended not only to enliven the space but also to humidify the air and improve the overall environment. The now-prepared project also includes new paving, greenery, and benches, for example.
