České Budějovice – The renovation of the arrival hall of the České Budějovice train station will be completed by the end of this year. All repairs at the station will last until July 2023. The workers will also finish the restoration of the Písek station by December at the latest. The modernization of the station building in Veselí nad Lužnicí will be completed this May. This was stated by Radka Pistoriusová, spokesperson for the Railway Administration.

At the České Budějovice station, the relocation of the ticket offices to temporary spaces has now been completed. Work is underway in the arrival hall on technological channels, with an elevator and the adjoining ceiling being demolished, and a new elevator shaft being constructed. "The reconstruction of the arrival hall will be completed by the end of this year. Renovation of the façade continues on the southern tower and the southern and eastern sides of the building, and scaffolding will be removed this spring," the spokesperson said.

The modernization of the train station in České Budějovice began in June 2020. The costs amount to 689.4 million crowns excluding tax. Operating spaces will be changed, areas for commercial use will be adjusted, and shops will be located in the most frequented spaces, along with a relaxation zone. Construction companies will modernize publicly accessible areas and will also build the main entrance to the building directly from Lannova Street.

In May of this year, the renovation of the dispatch building in Veselí nad Lužnicí for 53 million crowns will be completed. The interior will change, with new restrooms accessible from the hall being added on the first floor, and new commercial spaces as well. The boiler room will be moved to the basement. The construction company will also repair the façade made of brickwork. The building will have its sewage, water, heating, ventilation, air conditioning, and electrical systems renewed. The firm will also repair the roof including the truss, restoring the original, damaged stucco elements. Builders will also replace the doors. The Railway Administration intends to preserve the historical character of the building, hence the windows will be wooden casement. The work is coordinated by SŽ with the adjoining construction of the transfer terminal.

The Railway Administration is also renovating the dispatch building in Písek, starting from March 2021. The entrance to the building and the first platform will be barrier-free, and additional parking spaces for cars will be added. The building from the late 19th century will largely regain its original historical appearance. Currently, arches are being supported in the basement, excavation work and new floors are being completed. "On the roof, the assembly of the new truss structure continues. It is a complete reconstruction of the building; extensions with former lodging houses and unused kiosks have been demolished. A parking lot is being built on the area freed up in this way," described the spokesperson. New sanitation facilities and public areas will be available on the ground floor. Elsewhere in the building, workers will repair apartments. The costs are 53 million crowns, and it will be completed by the end of this year.
