Brno - The city council of the Brno district of Nový Lískovec has today decided to call for a referendum on the construction of apartment buildings in the Kamenné vrch area. It will take place concurrently with the municipal elections this October. The area is expected to have up to 35 buildings with 550 apartments, with investments estimated at around one billion crowns.

About fifty residents of Nový Lískovec attended the council meeting to discuss the matter. "From the sociological survey commissioned by the city of Brno, various comments were derived, many of which we are already addressing with the city's management to ensure that the residents of Nový Lískovec are satisfied," said the district mayor, Jana Drápalová (SZ).

At the same time, according to her, the district leadership has agreed with the citizens to hold a roundtable meeting, where they will listen to all the comments that people have regarding the planned construction.

The area is located in the southeast of the Nový Lískovec district, above Petra Křivka street, and partially within the cadastral territory of the districts of Bosonohy and Kohoutovice. Kamenný vrch is one of the main development areas for housing in Brno. The city council included it in strategic projects at the end of 2016.
