Aš (Chebsko) - The first tournaments should take place in the new bowling alley in Aš as early as December. The construction costing 14 million crowns will be completed in the coming weeks, informed the spokesperson of the Aš town hall, Milan Vrbata, in a press release today. Local bowlers will thus gain a facility that will allow them to host championship competitions. The bowling lane alone will cost 2.2 million crowns. "The Kuželky Aš club plans the first tournaments here in December. According to the bowlers in Aš, a top-class sports facility is being created, comparable to the most modern lanes in our country. The bowlers from Aš have already received an offer to host the national championship in one of the youth categories next year," said Vrbata. The installation of the four-lane is planned for mid-November, according to the spokesperson. Athletes will have changing rooms, sanitary facilities, a refreshment area, and a clubhouse available in the new building. The bowling alley is being constructed in a gap between the gym and the kindergarten on Gustav Geipel Street. The construction of the bowling alley is being financed by the city from its own budget. For next year, the leadership of Aš has planned the reconstruction of Gustav Geipel Street itself, which has one of the worst road surfaces in the city. The reconstruction of the street, where the bowling alley is located, is expected to cost the city 15 million crowns.
