Brno - Less than two years after the demolition of the former Vlněna textile complex, the development company CTP Invest is completing three new office buildings along Přízova Street, which will offer 8000 m² of office space. Additionally, the company is preparing to start the construction of two more buildings, which will have a total area of 20,000 m² - these are expected to open in the spring of next year, said CTP's South Moravian director Tomáš Budař to ČTK.

It is still unclear which company will be the main tenant of the completed buildings; however, Budař confirmed that it is a company operating in the information technology sector. "Logos will soon start to be installed, then it will be clear," he stated. The developer can already expect partial occupancy of the other two buildings.

There is still great interest in office space in the current economic boom, especially for those located close to the city center and with very good public transport accessibility. This is the case for the former Vlněna, which lies between the train and bus stations.

"We are also starting the renovation of the Bochner Palace. There will be a restaurant on the ground floor and offices on the other floors," Budař described the future of the only preserved building, which has served as the administrative base for the textile factory since 1867.

Even after the completion of the other two buildings next year, half of the complex will still be available. "We are gradually sending archaeologists to where we want to build. Further construction depends on the level of interest. If it remains as it has been, we can continue to build," Budař noted. According to his estimates, 70 percent of the current interest in new offices comes from companies that are expanding. The remaining portion mostly consists of new and smaller firms.

The area around Dornych has significantly transformed in the last decade from a neglected corner of Brno into a place where thousands of people pass daily. The first project was the construction of the Vaňkovka shopping and entertainment center, and less than two years ago, the Dorn administrative high-rise was opened, which took the place of residential buildings from the 19th century between Dornych and Plotní. There are also plans to modernize the bus station at Zvonařka.
