Teplice - The proposal to save the dilapidated neoclassical Hadí lázně will likely have to be revised by the investor. Heritage conservationists from the regional office confirmed the negative stance of their Teplice colleagues regarding the reconstruction proposal. Lucie Dosedělová, spokesperson for the regional office, said this today to ČTK.

"We still have an interest in restoring the operation of Hadí lázně and repairing the building. We want to assist the investor if they wish to prepare a new study that would be in accordance with heritage conservation," the spokesperson described.

The devastated building in the spa center was purchased by the JTH company of entrepreneur Jaroslav Třešňák, who submitted one of the reconstruction proposals to the Teplice heritage conservationists. However, they were not pleased with some of the proposed interventions and issued a negative opinion, which has now been confirmed by the regional office.

The neoclassical building ceased to serve its original purpose at the turn of the millennium after several reconstructions. The JTH company bought it in 2006. "Our project envisions that children with disabilities will receive outpatient treatment at Hadí lázně. We aim to use Chinese, Russian, and Czech methods of treatment," Třešňák told journalists before Christmas.

There is a spring beneath the building that the spa could draw from, and the facility is connected to the main distribution of spa springs. The company has 200 million for the renovation.
