Prague - A three-story art center will be built in Prague's Jižní Město for ten days. The temporary structure will be part of the third edition of the art festival in public space, Street For Art, which will take place in Prague 11 from May 13 to May 22. The eleventh district informs about the event on its website. While last year the festival's icon was a transparent inflatable "bubble," this year the main exhibition space will consist of a series of glass modules. It will be constructed in Central Park, showcasing works by artists such as Josef Bolf, Ján Mančuška, Jiří Skála, and Pavel Sterec. The ceremonial opening of the festival is planned for Thursday, May 13. This year's festival will not only focus on the exhibition of visual arts but also on other events aimed at the residents of Jižní Město. "The festival in its third edition proves that it is possible to connect top contemporary art and the lives of people outside the city center," stated David Kašpar from the Zahrada cultural center. A neighborly dinner, picnic, guided tours of Jižní Město, and weekend programs for families are also being prepared. A mobile gallery project titled "Caution, architecture in motion!" focusing on the work of architectural studios that specialize in mobile and modular architecture will also be part of the festival. The festival is organized by the non-profit organization Kulturní Jižní Město. Last year, Street For Art drew 3000 visitors over four days; this year, the organizers expect 5000 attendees.
