Cheb - The Cheb Transport Terminal is beginning to take its final shape. After the modifications of the surrounding roads, a structure for a modern bus terminal has started to arise in front of the train station. The investor for the construction, costing 117 million crowns, is the Karlovy Vary Region. According to Governor's Deputy Petr Navrátil (ČSSD), everything so far suggests that the completion of the building by December will be achieved, he told ČTK.

"Problems occurred at the beginning of the construction when it was discovered that the subsoil is not sufficiently stable. But this is common for projects of this scale. We had a reserve of about four million crowns for such cases," Navrátil stated.
The region is involved in the pre-financing of the transport terminal, which is supposed to receive a grant from the Regional Operational Program, with approximately 107 million crowns, while the city of Cheb will contribute nine million.
The architecturally interesting structure, resembling a spider's nest, has a hexagonal shape. Bus stands will be created around the perimeter. By connecting with the train station, a terminal will be formed that allows for a dry transfer from the train to the bus. The construction also includes modifications to the surroundings, such as the former bus station from 1966 and the streets adjacent to the station. The bus stand and sidewalks to the terminal have already been paved.
