The owner of the former ČT building in Brno on Běhounská is Swantonfield

Brno - The new owner of the former Czech Television building on Běhounská Street in Brno is the company Swantonfield. Its managing director Josef Vojta told ČTK today that plans for the property will be published soon. They are currently finalizing and refining them. The owner of the Typos palace on Jezuitská Street, which was auctioned off just before Christmas last year, is the company Magnum Mall. Josef Machů from the auction company Prokonzulta told ČTK that the auction winner paid shortly after it ended. The transfer in the land register for both buildings should be completed by January 9.

The company Swantonfield auctioned the building on October 20 for 81 million crowns, with a starting price of almost 31 million. According to the commercial register, it operates in real estate. The house was built between the world wars for a bank and is now a monument. It stands in an area that has significantly revived in recent years, particularly thanks to pubs and restaurants.

The new owners of the Typos palace have not yet outlined their vision either. It has become the property of Magnum Mall, whose owners have experience in reconstructing historical buildings in downtown Brno, such as the Chlumeckých palace on Česká Street, the building at the corner of Česká and Středova, or the building No. 11 on Masarykova Street. They are also behind the construction of the Anenské terraces. The company representative Ondřej Vymazal stated after the pre-Christmas auction that plans will be announced once the entire transaction is completed. Originally, Typos was built between the wars as an apartment building with a commercial passage on the ground floor and a dance hall in the basement.

Typos was sold at a starting price of 70.4 million crowns, allowing Czech Television to gain over 150 million crowns in total. The new studio in Líšeň, where it moved last summer, cost 274 million. The Brno studio had been located in downtown Brno since 1961, with both buildings serving as a temporary solution that continually adapted to the needs of television operations.
