Principally, with the temporary object of the footbridge, we have crossed the regulated river Nisa at a location that lies on the edge of the city center. The area, which has very high spatial values and good urban connections, is currently used as a parking lot on both banks of the Nisa. The footbridge allows for a new way of movement in the area, referencing the issue of permeability of the city, which remains unresolved in many places in Jablonec. The footbridge also directs pedestrians and potential cyclists into the interior block on the northern bank of the river Nisa, thus alluding to the idea of utilizing interior blocks and undeveloped plots within the city's built-up area. Structurally, it consists of a wooden nailed truss beam with a span of 6m, made from construction boards with a profile of 120x24mm. The maximum load capacity of the structure is 2000kg. The construction costs are 5000 CZK. The placement of the footbridge is an initiating act that we contributed to the Urban Interventions in Jablonec. The footbridge has been installed in the location without the permission of the relevant authorities. This is partly because the approval process would not be commensurate with the significance of the act, and also because a certain degree of voluntary action can better stimulate public discussion or dialogue between residents and the municipal office, not just in Jablonec.
