Kutná Hora - Kutná Hora is preparing a large-scale renovation of the Hlouška housing estate. They want to tidy up the greenery, modify the sidewalks, and restore street lighting. The work is divided into eight phases, and by the end of the current election term, at least the first two could be completed, said mayor Lukáš Seifert (ODS) to ČTK. He did not want to estimate the total costs, but he mentioned that the currently planned phase would cost around 20 million crowns.
The city is now finishing the documentation related to the Průmyslovák playground. Work there could begin next year. At the same time, it announced a competition for the preparation of documentation for the phase covering the area between Zelenková, Masaryková, and Trebišovská streets. However, the competition had to be canceled because only one applicant applied.
"I recommended to the investment department to actively reach out to architects and design studios, because it is always unpleasant to choose from just one offer. Moreover, this phase will affect the character of the entire Hlouška, as it will connect to further phases," said the mayor.
The Hlouška housing estate was created from the 1950s to the 1990s, covering an area of approximately 15 hectares and consisting of around 75 apartment buildings. In recent years, the city has similarly renovated the Šipší housing estate.
