Kroměříž - Kroměříž plans to build an outdoor swimming pool next to the existing indoor swimming pool. The city currently operates a summer swimming complex at Bajda. However, its operation is significantly loss-making. It needs a major renovation, with the minimum costs estimated by the city hall at 50 million crowns. Additionally, the operation incurs an annual loss of about 150,000 CZK. A portion of the land belongs to the state. The mayor of Kroměříž, Miloš Malý, said this to ČTK.

Bajda is open for three to four months each year. According to the city leadership, the repair costs are very disproportionate to its usage. Therefore, the city has "dust off" an old project and plans to build an outdoor swimming pool next to the existing indoor pool. The water in the pools would be heated, utilizing water from the indoor complex as well. "Currently, we are preparing a land swap, as our predecessors sold this land," Malý reminded.
When the outdoor pools at the indoor swimming complex will start to be built, and when they might begin serving the public, is still unclear. It also depends on the success of the project in obtaining a grant.
Thus, Bajda will serve people for at least this summer and next summer. After the construction and opening of the new outdoor pools, the city would stop using Bajda. The tennis courts, volleyball, and footvolley fields would remain in operation.
